School-Based Speech Language Pathologist Week in Georgia

Governor Nathan Deal has officially declared the week of September 11 through September 15, 2017 to be School-Based Speech Language Pathologist Week in Georgia.

GO SSLP Week was issued in a proclamation that was signed by the Governor, which reads, in part:

"WHEREAS Speech language pathologists are crucial to each school's special education team and are invaluable support resources for classroom teachers, guidance counselors, and parents, and

WHEREAS School-based speech language pathologists statewide have had a lasting impact on future generations by both providing exemplary speech language services to local schools and catering to the individual needs of Georgia students across all levels of education,"

GO SSLP plans to utilize SLP Week as a way to celebrate SLPs and the incredible work they do in Georgia schools, as well as a way to publicize the vital role that SLPs play in the Georgia K-12 education system.
